Parco Naturale Regionale del Bosco Incoronata protects a rare remnant of lowland deciduous forest along the Cervaro river basin in the otherwise dry, agricultural plains of the Tavoliere delle Puglie. Unlike the surrounding wheat fields, this protected area preserves a dense canopy of downy oaks, field elms, and white poplars.
