Naturnationalpark Fussingø offers a distinct contrast between steep, forested slopes and the quiet waters of Fussing Sø. Unlike the flat agricultural plains nearby, this area is defined by a deep glacial valley where ancient beech woods cling to the hillsides. Walkers can choose between the firm, shaded dirt tracks that wind through the old-growth forest or the softer, sometimes damp paths that follow the lake edge and cross low-lying meadows. The landscape here is defined by its enclosed, intimate feel rather than wide-open vistas.
