Aukštadvario regioninis parkas is defined by its dramatic glacial topography, where steep, pine-covered ridges drop sharply into deep, water-filled kettle holes. Unlike the flat plains found elsewhere in Lithuania, this park offers a constantly undulating terrain shaped by retreating ice sheets. Walkers will notice the stark contrast between the dry, sandy pine forests on the high ridges and the damp, peat-filled hollows and lake margins below.

Underfoot, the trails alternate between soft needle litter on sandy forest tracks and firmer dirt paths that can become slick with clay near the water's edge.
