How do I start a conversation with someone?

Start a new conversation

There are two ways to start a chat:

From a user's profile:

1. Open the profile of the person you want to chat with
2. Tap the Send message button at the top
3. You'll go straight to the chat screen

From the Chats tab:

1. Open the Messages screen
2. Open the Chats tab (the first tab)
3. Tap the + button at the top right
4. Search for a user by name or @username
5. Tap a user to start the conversation

Good to know:

• The recipient must also have a WandelWeb account
• The first time you chat we ask for your account password to set up your encryption — see the dedicated FAQ on this
• You can't message users who have blocked you
