How do I archive a conversation?
Archive a conversation
Want to clean up a chat without deleting the messages? Archiving is the answer.
How it works:
- Open the conversation you want to archive
- Tap the menu (three dots) at the top right
- Choose Archive chat
What happens?
- The chat disappears from your Active tab
- It moves to the Archived tab
- Messages remain stored and encrypted
- The other user notices nothing
Restore an archived chat:
- Open the Archived tab
- Open the chat
- Tap menu → Unarchive chat
When does an archived chat come back automatically?
- If the other person sends you a new message, the chat automatically returns to your active list
