Hazenpad
Kleine, aangegeven ronde van nog geen 2 km over een boerenbedrijf en langs weilanden. Overal staan educatieve en informatieve borden. Op de boerderij is veel te zien en te beleven dus zeker een leuke wandeling voor kinderen.

Hugterheide en Weerterbos
Wij hebben 2 geocaches gecombineerd (Grenskerkencache GCMCH1 uit januari 2001 en GCAHX5Z Ommetje Nederland-Nederweert) en zo ruim 10 km gewandeld. Er zijn verschillende gemarkeerde routes vanaf verschillende parkeerplaatsen. Zo hebben wij grotendeels de 'rode ruit' gevolgd. Je komt door de prachtige natuur van de Hugterheide en het Weerterbos. Het is een moerassig bos met veel water en vennetjes dus hoge/waterdichte schoenen zijn aan te raden! Bijzonderheden onderweg: 🔝Uitkijktoren De Grashut middenin een leefgebied van edelherten. Hier worden ook bronstexcursies gehouden. ✝️Het Grenskerkmonument Dit is een kerk waar katholieken vroeger hun toevlucht zochten omdat ze in de noordelijke (protestante) Nederlanden hun geloof niet mochten belijden. Deze kerk is neergezet in het toenmalige Duitse gebied rondom Weert om de Brabantse katholieken toch de gelegenheid te geven hun geloof te beoefenen. ✈️Expositie Luchtoorlog 1939-1945 De stichting “Luchtoorlog-1939-1945” onderzoekt de luchtoorlog gedurende de 2de wereldoorlog in de regio Nederweert, Weert en omstreken. In deze (gratis) expositie kunnen de bezoekers duizenden stille getuigen zien die de geschiedenis levend houden. De offers die de Britse en Amerikaanse vliegtuigbemanningen gebracht hebben voor onze bevrijding zullen hierdoor niet vergeten worden. ☕️ Daatjeshoeve , lekkere koffie in de Huyskamer, een aanrader.
