Do I also need to turn off Battery Saver, Adaptive Battery or RAM Boost?
It doesn't matter for the message in the app
The battery message in WandelWeb only checks whether WandelWeb itself is set to Unrestricted. Still, it helps to keep these settings off during a hike:
- Battery Saver (whole phone): can make the GPS measure less often while the screen is off. Preferably turn it off during a hike.
- Adaptive Battery: learns which apps you rarely use and restricts them. If WandelWeb is set to Unrestricted, this has little effect. Turning it off does no harm.
- RAM Boost (Motorola): can close background apps to free up memory. Turning it off can help if your recording stops halfway.
- Unrestricted data usage: lets WandelWeb send data in the background, for example when sharing your live location. It is not needed for recording your hike itself.
