Park Krajobrazowy Lasy nad Górną Liswartą is characterized by its damp, forested basin where the upper Liswarta River and its tributaries slow down and spread into the landscape. Unlike the dry pine forests common in other parts of Poland, this park is defined by wet alder woods, waterlogged meadows, and numerous shallow ponds. Walkers will notice how the water table dictates the vegetation, with marshy depressions suddenly giving way to slightly higher, sandy ground covered in mixed oak and pine forest.

Underfoot, the terrain alternates between soft, damp earth along the riverbanks and firm, sandy tracks on the slightly elevated ridges.
