Litoral Norte offers a coastal walking landscape dominated by low sand dunes, pine forests, and estuary marshes rather than dramatic cliffs or deep valleys. Stretching along the Atlantic shoreline, the terrain is shaped by constant coastal winds and shifting sands, which are stabilized in places by marram grass and planted pine woods.
