For dramatic coastal terrain, Woliński Park Narodowy on the Baltic coast features steep clay cliffs and beech forests that terminate abruptly at the water. In contrast, the interior offers deep woodland walking. Drawieński Park Narodowy and the nearby Drawski Park Krajobrazowy present a labyrinth of clear lakes and fast-flowing rivers cutting through thick pine and oak forests, where the paths follow glacial channels. Further south along the German border, Cedyński Park Krajobrazowy offers steeper, dry hills covered in beech trees and steppe vegetation.
If you prefer open river valleys, the southern borderlands feature the vast floodplains of Park Krajobrazowy Ujście Warty, where the walking is flat and follows raised dikes. In April, these grassy wetlands fill with migrating waterfowl, making it a noisy, active landscape. While the coastal paths of Woliński can be busy near resort towns, the forested tracks of Drawieński are generally quieter, offering a more solitary experience among the trees.
