A route is incorrect, how do I get it adjusted?

A route that is no longer correct

Routes can change: paths get rerouted, areas are no longer maintained, or routes are temporarily closed. WandelWeb is a community-driven platform. Routes are added and maintained by hikers themselves. With tens of thousands of routes on the platform, it's unfortunately impossible for us to keep all routes up to date ourselves. That's exactly why your local knowledge is so valuable.

Adjust the route yourself:

  1. Open the route on WandelWeb and choose Edit on map. You can drag the line to the correct path, for example a bike path if the original trail is no longer walkable.
  2. Have your own GPX file of the correct route (e.g. recorded during your hike)? Upload it — this replaces the old track.

This way all hikers after you immediately benefit from your knowledge of the area.

Tip: Walking a route and notice it's no longer correct? Record your hike with WandelWeb right away. That way you immediately have the correct GPX to share!
