Underfoot, the park relies heavily on a network of wide, gravel forestry tracks and narrower, unpaved dirt paths. While the main routes are firm, the smaller woodland trails can be muddy and soft after wet weather. This is a working forest, so you will frequently encounter timber piles and forestry management zones alongside historical features like old stone boundary markers and quiet ponds.
In October, the beech canopy turns a deep copper, making the woodland interior particularly striking. The areas closest to the main trailheads and historic sites, such as Bebenhausen Abbey, tend to be busier, while the deeper interior of the forest offers a much quieter walking experience.
