Minijos krāštovaizdŹio draustinis is defined by the dramatic loops of the Minija River, which has carved a deep, steep-sided valley through the undulating clay plains. Unlike the flat, sandy pine forests common in other parts of western Lithuania, this reserve features high, eroding riverbanks, exposed clay bluffs, and dense deciduous woodland clinging to the slopes. The terrain is characterized by sharp elevation changes between the high river terraces and the wet, alluvial meadows at the water's edge.

Walkers should expect a mix of clay-heavy forest tracks, narrow dirt paths along the ridge edges, and soft, grassy floodplains. The underfoot conditions are highly dependent on the river's level, with low-lying paths near the water often becoming muddy and soft, while the upper ridge trails remain firmer but require careful footing on steep, root-strewn slopes.
