Limite do Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês marks the transition zone along the outer boundary of Portugal's only national park. Unlike the deep, granite-carved interior of the main park, this borderland features a mix of traditional agricultural terraces, scrubby heathlands, and small oak copses. The landscape here is shaped by centuries of pastoral farming, where stone walls partition small plots of land and ancient granaries, known as espigueiros, stand near the villages. It is a working rural landscape rather than a pristine wilderness.

Underfoot, walkers will mostly encounter old stone-paved paths, dirt tracks, and rough bedrock. The terrain is hilly and uneven, though it lacks the high, jagged peaks found deeper in the park. Instead, you will navigate moderate slopes, granite slabs, and occasional muddy sections where small streams cross the path.
