The best hiking routes in Gryżyński Park Krajobrazowy

GryŹyński Park Krajobrazowy offers a landscape shaped by glacial activity, characterized by a deep, narrow post-glacial valley cutting through pine forests. Unlike flatter Polish woodlands, this area features steep ravine slopes, kettle holes, and numerous natural springs that seep directly from the hillsides. The GryŹynka stream flows through the center, feeding a chain of ponds and creating a marshy valley floor that contrasts sharply with the dry, sandy pine barrens on the higher ground.

Walkers will find a mix of terrain underfoot. The higher trails consist of dry, sandy tracks where pine needles cushion the path, while the lower paths near the stream and ponds require navigating damp soil, wooden boardwalks, and occasional footbridges. The vegetation changes rapidly from dry lichen-rich pine forests to damp alder woods as you descend into the valley.
