Barlinecki Park Krajobrazowy offers a landscape shaped by the last glaciation, characterized by steep-sided gullies, deep lake basins, and dense beech forests. Unlike flatter lowland forests nearby, this park features a surprisingly rolling terrain where walkers will constantly ascend and descend moraine hills. The underfoot conditions alternate between soft forest loam, thick leaf litter, and sandy tracks, with several sections of damp peat near the water margins.

Water is a constant presence, but it is experienced from above or alongside rather than through open marshland. The paths wind past long, narrow ribbon lakes, such as Lake Barlineckie, where the shorelines are often steep and wooded. Walkers will notice how the vegetation changes abruptly from dry, towering beech stands on the hilltops to damp alder carrs in the depressions, providing a clear visual map of the local water table.
