The Baraccone (confluenza Po-Dora Baltea) nature reserve protects the dynamic meeting point of the Po and Dora Baltea rivers. Unlike the managed agricultural plains nearby, this area is defined by shifting gravel beds, wide shingle banks, and dense riparian woodland. The landscape is constantly reshaped by seasonal high waters, meaning you will walk through a mix of pioneer willow thickets, hardwood forests of oak and elm, and open, stony shores that feel remarkably wild.
