The Zona de Especial Protección para Aves Sierras de Burete, Lavia y Cambrón offers a rugged, Mediterranean forest landscape in the interior of Murcia. Unlike the flatter agricultural plains nearby, this protected area is defined by three distinct limestone mountain ranges covered in dense Aleppo pine woodlands, holm oaks, and low-lying rosemary and thyme scrub.
