The best hiking routes in Góry Bardzkie

The Góry Bardzkie form a low, heavily forested mountain range in the Sudetes, characterized by two distinct ridges split by the deep, winding gorge of the Nysa Kłodzka river. Unlike the rocky, exposed peaks of neighboring ranges, these hills are almost entirely covered by dense beech, spruce, and fir forests. Underfoot, you will mostly encounter wide forest tracks, clay paths that become slick after rainfall, and occasional steep, stony trails cutting through the trees. It is a landscape of enclosed green canopy rather than open mountain vistas.

Walking here is defined by the contrast between the northern and southern sections. The northwestern ridge features gentler slopes and broader paths, while the southeastern part rises more sharply, culminating in Broad Mountain (Szeroka Góra). The river gorge itself is the central feature, where the hillsides drop steeply into the valley, forcing trails to climb abruptly.
